Today's review is on Rouge Bunny Rouge Enchantment Colorburst Lipstick in Whim of Mine 019 (£22.00, €25.95, $34.12), 3.8 grams. The formula is creamy and smooth. Color lasts 2-3 hours.
Whim of Mine is described as a "creamy, satin raspberry-ripple pink."

I don't see raspberry in the stock swatch or in mine (below). Raspberries are a cool, clear, blue red (or blue black). Perhaps the "ripple" part denotes the color a raspberry swirl would take on as it journeys through cream (as in its eponymous ice cream name) and becomes more muted. But embroidering itself in cream would just make the raspberry color a softer blue pink.
To my eye, Whim of Mine is a warm pink beige. The following photos are tricky because the day was cool and overcast.
This is how Whim of Mine translates on pink-porcelain skin (NW15). I see pale salmon.
I hope you can better see the warm undertones on white paper.
Although not a great color on me, Whim of Mine is a pretty, subtle pink many could wear on any day in any social situation. And the formulation and texture are divine, every bit as silky and smooth as some of the best lipsticks I have worn to date by Edward Bess, Chanel, Laura Mercier, and Guerlain.
Like Edward Bess lipsticks, RBR lipsticks come in a sleek, black metal tube, but they don't click closed, so I'll be interested to see how they last over time (e.g., if they retain their incredible moisture). And moist these lipsticks are. Hydrating and enriched with Vitamin E, this lipstick glides on like softened butter, does not dry my lips after a long day, and a single application, gently blotted, lasts around 4 hours before it begins to fade.
UPDATE: Almost one year later I have experienced no degradation in moisture retention, so cap clicking is unnecessary.
Bottom line: Nice formula, but my least favorite RBR lip color.
