Coming Soon: Ellis Faas NEW Creamy Eyes!

This is exciting news! Next week Ellis Faas will be launching seven (SEVEN!) new shades to extend her beautiful range of Creamy Eyes eyeshadows.

The seven new shades will be: Navy Blue, Bordeaux Red, Purple, Lilac, Mint Green, Light Blue, and Yellow Ochre.

I had been hoping for a cool, mid-toned grey when she introduced new colors to her Creamy Eyes line, but I am definitely looking forward to trying the Navy, Purple, and Lilac.

What about you? Is anyone as excited as I am?

Brows not shaved, just concealed. :)

  1. Sorry, Zuzu, I don't have much to say about the new release, but about the ad: I'm not sure I would shave off my eyebrows, not even for art. o_O

    1. LOL, Larie I am pretty sure she didn't shave off her eyebrows! I a guessing they have been waxed down and are hidden under the eyeshadow (and probably retouched to make it even less apparent) with new brows drawn on top, like they did in the Roaring 20s. ;D

    2. I don't want to give away Ellis Faas beauty secrets, but after a closer look at the model, her brows seem to be in the right place, but they have concealer over them. I think I can see hair texture on her right eye (left eye in the photo).

I bet Olivia/Fauxlivia could tell us how it works. So no shaving! Or maybe I should all the caption "don't try this at home," hee.

    3. Haha, I think you are right! I was peering at the photo on my iPhone and I was just alarmed.

  2. the only colour that interests me is the ad colour. EF doesn't work for me sadly but I guess this blue is a great base as well. I don't know if I like the ad or not, lol. I really hope they will change the packaging, I had real problems with that.

    1. The ad color is pretty, isn't it? I wonder if it's the Light Blue or maybe with some of the green mixed in.

Yes, I am heartbroken it doesn't work that well for me, either. I LOVE the brand, the concept, and even the packaging, but 99% of it is too warm or too bright for me.

  3. I was hoping for a cooler taupe shade, and that she'd stick with the more natural "human" colors (lol). But Lilac looks like it has possibilities.

And I never, ever take her ad photography as an example of how you should be wearing the colors! It's definitely more art-- "see the beauty of these colors!".

    1. You and me both, veuve. A Creamy Eyes version of Sweet Dust Seremia would be swoon worthy. I am definitely going to be looking into Lilac.

I also smiled at the "human" colors in this release, but I am glad she's expanding. I would love to see her line grow and grow.

I also view her ads as pure art and expression, not "how to," hee. Remember the one of her brother, Thijs, where it looks like she painted over gauze that was shredding on his face? Beautiful and compelling and frightening all in one photograph!

  4. Trust EF to make pastel blue eyeshadow + red lips look faaaar from retro!

I'm very excited for these not-so-human colours

    1. I know, so pretty! I am not sure I can get away with the Light Blue but I adore it on the model. I look forward to seeing the looks you create with it, Tracy.

  6. I'm quite excited about the purple and lilac. I just have to work with the one I have to see if I can figure out a good application technique. Sadly, I still haven't mastered it. Any tips?

    1. I make sure my eyelids are smooth and silky. I prefer to start with a very fine base of a gel moisturizer, like Clinique All About Eyes and make sure it has sunk in completely.

Then I click the pen to get a tiny bit of goo on the brush, dab the goo on my eyelids (close to the outer third of the lid), and quickly work it upward toward the crease and then inward toward the rest of the lid, so the color is most pigmented at the outer corner, closest to the lash line and diffused inward and upward so there's barely any pigment when I get to the inner corners.

I have tried all kinds of brushes, including the built-in applicator, and I find that fingers work the best, with light, feathery strokes.

The original Milky Eye formula, back when it came with the showerhead applicator, was hard to apply. I absolutely had to use my fingers for that, but I pretty much use only the Creamy Eyes formula.

What color/formula do you currently have? E107 is the only color I can wear from her current Creamy Eyes lineup, and even that's a touch too warm, so I am so looking forward to these new cool colors. I still want a grey, though.

  7. Good, they could do with more cool shades, I like the look of Lilac. Thanks for sharing as I often forget about Ellis Faas :)

    1. Lilac is the one I will be getting for certain. I hope they don't sell out as quickly as the RBR shadows, but I have the feeling they won't.

  8. I use the Ellis Faas concealer which is amazing but the brush is a nightmare, all bent and frayed as the bullet cap seems to push the brush down. I love the colours and concepts but read so many negatives about the packaging I am not sure I can justify forking out on other bits from the range. The navy looks fab though.

    1. I must be one of the lucky few who has had virtually no problems. I did have one episode ... there was a period when a batch of pen caps were not hermetically sealed, but Ellis Faas customer service replaced it without question, and the next pen was perfect.

I know they listen to customers and are continually looking for ways to improve the delivery method. It would be nice to have these products available in a tube or pot, though.

    1. I know, I really wish I could see these colors at Sephora. I don't even know there they will be released. It might be just on ellisfaas.com at first.

    2. Hopefully they will be there soon-- I really prefer to swatch and play first. Buying online sight-unseen is never as fun!
