Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 56 Chance is a neutral, warm-leaning pastel pink, and is one of the few with no shimmer.
Chance is slightly less sheer than the other Rouge Coco Shines I own. It is also not a good match for my coloring, and the texture is disappointing, applying a bit patchy.

| Chance compared to Aventure and Romance |
I had posted a Rouge Coco Shine lineup in my review on Fétiche, but here it is again for your convenience. You can see how Chance appears to be the lightest of the bunch, but actually Royallieu (upcoming review) is the most light and sheer. I guess I also need to review Boy and Aventure.

Here's a slightly closer view:
Bottom line: My first Rouge Coco Shine disappointment. However, if your skin tone is neutral to warm, and your lips are not terribly pigmented, this might be a gorgeous choice for you.

Hey Zu!! What a disappointment! I won't even bother with it then! xoxox
ReplyDeleteHi, Lola! It looks rather icky on my lips, doesn't it? So far Romance takes the lead with Bonheur nipping at its heels.
DeleteAw it looks so pretty and pink in the tube and a LOt paler on the lips--I think it would totally wash me out. Pass, unfortunately. I did just buy my very first Rouge Coco Shine in Boy though, so I'm SO excited about that! Can't wait to test it out!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it, Becca. Boy is an excellent, go-with-everything basic.
DeleteBoo. I'm feeling a little surprised at how the texture of Chance looks on your lips--very un-Chanel. I have Boy and have been wearing it continuously this summer. Not the sort of color I'd normally choose, but my husband and sons picked it out ;) People tell me the color looks nice, but I don't like how quickly it wears off.
ReplyDeleteI agree they wear off quickly, but I look at that as a plus. For ONCE I might finish a lipstick! :) Also, the slightly more pigmented colors can be a bit staining. If you like Boy, check out Fetiche, which is just a touch darker and cooler.
DeleteIt's so pale! Too bad. I love my Boy and Flirt! Have you tried the new Dior Addict Extremes Zuzu? I'm really liking them!
ReplyDeleteHow's summer so far?
I don't beieve I have tried those, Red. :) I'll take a look next time I am out.
DeleteSummer has been crazy busy so far. Hardly any time to play online.
oh no, the RCS love train is broken! I'll not get that shade then x
ReplyDeleteYes *sigh* all good things come to an end. That said, you might still like it. You do tend to like colors a tiny bit more pale and warm than I, so this could possibly suit you quite well. So don't write it off entirely!
DeleteMagnolia is my favourite, so glad it's been re-released! Adventure looks pretty too... I've looked at Chance but thought it would be a touch pale for me.
ReplyDeleteNic x
Hi Nic, I have never seen Magnolia. I wonder if it's a non-US color. I will have to go looking now! (Aventure is pretty, but it contains gold shimmers, which makes it not so great on me.)
DeleteWhat a lovely collection you have! I love the pinkness of Promise <3
ReplyDeleteI mean't Romance* (I was thinking of wearing Illamasqua's cream blush in Promise, LOL!)
ReplyDeleteooo....sad to know that CHANCE is a bit patchy.
ReplyDeleteI've always had my eye on this colour.
